Owners are very happy with the Drive Medical Phoenix 4 Wheel Compact Portable Travel Power Scooter and rate it a 4+/5. They love the appearance, the stability of a 4 wheel scooter, and the freedom that it gives. Length of Charge

This mobility scooter has a 15 mile battery capacity, according to manufacturer’s specifications.  However, the battery box is stackable, allowing for an optional battery for increased range up to 30 miles. This would require purchasing a second battery if course, but it is nice to know the option is there for anyone who has that need. Several owners stated that the battery charge doesn’t last as long as in some other models they’d used, though others said the battery charge is good.  Owners agree that the battery is easy to charge.

Adjustability and Functionality

This mobility scooter has some good adjustable features. The seat height is adjustable as is the arm rest, which also flips back to make getting in and out of the scooter easy. Owners like the feet and leg room and say this scooter is very comfortable. They also like the stability of a 4 wheel scooter.  One woman says her father has switched from a 3 wheel to this 4 wheel, and “it seems to be sturdier, so he doesn’t feel like he will tip or fall over”.  Many owners commented on the ease of operation. They also say that this scooter gives a smoother ride, including on sharp turns, than other scooters they have used.

Owners commented on how easy it is to disassemble and re-assemble this mobility scooter for transport in a car trunk. One says, “it’s a high quality scooter, and is a cinch to break down and load into the car”, while another says it “fits inside the trunk of my SUV even without disassembly.”  Most owners are able to load this scooter into their car trunk themselves, though some need a little help.

Several owners don’t like the horn/backing alarm on this scooter.  One owner calls it “useless” because it gives off a very weak sound, while another doesn’t like the beeping sound it makes when backing because she doesn’t like the attention that brings.  Several owners would also have preferred a larger basket. These owners do say, however, that these things are minor.

Owners are pleased with many aspects of this mobility scooter; the ease of manoeuvrability, the smooth ride, the appearance, the portability, and the price.  The thing that pleases them the most though is the greater mobility that they experience with the use of this scooter.  One owner called it “easy, helpful, and a life-saver!”  Another said this scooter is the “greatest thing for older people”. Many commented on how much easier it is for them to get around and do things they couldn’t do before.
