You can certainly use this scooter indoors in the halls of your apartment house.

People do travel on Amtrac with scooters, usually checking them, but not always. Check out the comments from others who have travelled on Amtrac with scooters, at this website http://boards.cruisecritic.com/archive/index.php/t-1330848.html . You can also phone Amtrac at 1-800-USA-RAIL and ask for more details.

If you are disabled, you may be able to get a discount. ..but would have to provide written confirmation of disability at the ticket counter and when boarding. You aren’t able to get the discount if you book online. You’d have to book at the ticket office or by phone.

I love to vacation with my son in Oregon and have to take the train because of blood clot concerns on the plane. Also, can this be used around my house? Not for small areas, but to go down long halls in my apartment house etc.
